Derison joined Working Credit in January 2022, bringing over ten years of experience in direct service, program management, program design, and organizational capacity building. Prior to that, he served as the Financial Capability Consultant at Greater Atlanta Builds Credit. He was formerly at Phipps Neighborhoods, a multi-service organization that serves over 12,000 individuals in the South Bronx, where he led the integration of financial services across education and workforce programs to promote economic mobility. He co-founded the Children's Economic Program (CEP) pilot program – an afterschool financial literacy program reaching 5,000 student units - a cross-collaboration project through JP Morgan Chase, and PYXERA Global. Derison has trained financial coaches, counselors and program managers in delivering financial development strategies. Derison is fluent in Spanish and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from John Jay College.

The issue of racism is deeply rooted in history, and to me, DEIJ is about learning from history to address systemic inequalities, and advocating for marginalized communities to have a voice and a seat at the table.
